Peter had a tremendous impact on my scientific career, supporting me directly, and also in providing many key insights into the genetics of myotonic dystrophy and Huntington disease on which he literally “wrote the book” and on which we continue to work. Peter was always very kind in sharing his many insights and was always a good friend to talk to and discuss broader issues, such as the history of human genetics. I will remember Peter with inordinate fondness and miss him greatly.
